Sir Marmalade are a psychedelic rock band from Dublin, who nicely capture the vibrant sounds of the emerging UK rock scene from the 1960's, while gently merging that with some of the more recent indie band styles from this century. I love their jangly guitar sounds and the lazy paced yet uplifting rhythms. You'd definitely be forgiven for thinking they were from a different era. I'd really love to get their music on vinyl as their complimentary intricate style is made for it.
Sir Marmalade are a band that appear to be growing in popularity through live performances, so if you see them mentioned on a poster, go check them out. The band were formed by Ronan Glennon and Glebsy Vo and were then later joined by Alex Zurcher. They have released some strong singles to date. There are currently around five tracks to stream and they are all worthy of album material, when they get there. They have also released singles on vinyl which I'm guessing are sold out but as soon as I post this, I'll be double checking.
Steelrose Soap Bed was released in 2022 as their debut single which was followed in 2023 by the really excellent, Liberty Soup. In 2024, Sir Marmalade released two more singles Many Crane Blues and Resistor, which are both fantastic. This is a band who have a welcoming familiarity about their sound. They're doing it well and long may it last. I'd love to catch them live and spin their debut album, so will be keeping tabs on them.
